Maggie’s Farm Sampling

Scheduled for Nov 6, 2013 at 6:00 PM at Robinson in Events & Tasting

Update! Label approved! We can sample and sell with Tim this Wednesday! Join us!

More than two years in the making, Tim Russell’s Strip District distillery is just about ready to start selling rum. Unfortunately the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau is backlogged from the government shutdown and Maggie’s Farm can’t get their label approved. Read more about how the region is feeling the effects of the government shutdown and see how Maggie’s Farm recently appeared in the national spotlight.

Maggie’s Farm Rum, produced by Allegheny Distilling, LLC located at 3212A Smallman Street in the Strip Distict, is possibly the first genuine rum to be produced and sold in Pennsylvania since colonial times. Maggie’s Farm is a white, agricole-style rum made from 100% turbinado and has a sweet, yet floral character similar to those produced from raw sugar cane juice in the French West Indies.

Visit Maggie’s Farm Distillery’s website for more information.

So while you can’t legally buy this product yet—  you can try it at Bocktown Robinson on November 6 at 6! Meet Tim, sample his wares, and join us for a lively discussion about how the shutdown has effected us all.
